TV

We've been without cable television for 1 week.

We've stopped shaking and surprisingly, we kinda like it.

We could not get cable installed at our home due to the large numbers of college students migrating to the university this week. We were forced into a two week hiatus.

We've also agreed to wait to purchase a tv for our living room until we get some gift cards in the mail. This will take 4-6 weeks. By that time, we may not want a tv in our family room.

Here's what we've been doing instead of killing our brain cells watching mindless crap.

*The laundry is done. It's folded and put away.
*The kitchen is clean.
*We've played outside in the inflatable swimming pool.
*We've taken walks.
*We've cooked together and ate together.
*We've talked and talked and talked.

We're more productive and well...our home is more peaceful. We don't have any idea what's going on in the rest of the world, but our little corner of it sure is happy.

So true. I am always better off when the TV is off. Don't laugh, but we got rid of cable a few years ago when a cuss word inadvertently slipped from my mouth - from the overflow of the heart... I realized that I was setting my mind on earthly things, so we got rid of it; I have NEVER regretted it.

I no longer own a TV either (my parents inherited mine)! I must say...I don't miss it a bit. My apartment does have one but except for the occasional CSI episode and a dose of Fox News every once in a while, it doesn't get turned on much. Amazing how quickly you forget to remember you don't have it!! Enjoy all your newfound free time!!

Sounds like it is pretty nice without tv. I always like it when there is nothing we can find on tv because we will actually turn it off and do something productive or just enjoy one another. I'm with you maybe we should try to do without, Josh would never go for that. I can't wait to see pictures of your new house!

No tv....old news-
We need a new post with some house pics but more importantly some belly pics of sweet baby Kenley- I am so ready to meet her. Rylie is going to be so lucky to have a cousin so close in age. I was thinking today how we are going to be able to do so much together with our daughters...like prom dress shopping together, and girls weekends with Honey and the girls- SO EXCITED!
